Mine would leak until the engine warmed up. Using the block heater would stop it too. Lol
Then I ordered the oring/gasket kit. Put that on. Realized the bypass valve was gone. So had to pull it again.
I put in the newer snap ring style.

Thats a rebuild right there. Or get a new one if it's rustled out or really clogged.

Here's what mine looks like from below. Not a very good picture but the part with all the sludge looking stuff is the side closer to the front of the motor. Not sure if all the stuff on the wiring is just road grime or something else.
I've never seen it actually leak oil on the ground I just see that sludge stuff there
