Keep reading post of people needing a E99 Spyder for OBS intercooling add on and was wondering what is the reason versus taking a regular for 99+ and putting it on?

Exactly.. Not to mention they are the only year that will clamp to the OBS turbo.

Sounds like me time to go with 3 inch plenums. How come it doesn't clamp to the OBS turbo as in what doesn't line up?

the other option is to switch to the "super duty" set up, turbo mount, turbo, up pipes, possibly exh manifolds, intake plenums etc.

Just trying to get intercooler setup started first before I go that heavy into changing things around again as I just got done going with TS 6 chip, aFe intake, Beans turbine housing, EBPV delete with pedestal with it deleted, 4 inch turbo back exhaust and a WW2. Just need to find me a E99 spyder somewhere I can do the pipes myself.

We make an intercooler piping kit for those too. You do have to change the drive side exhaust manifold to run SD stuff also.

If you were to buy the SD stuff new, the cost is far greater than going with a T4 setup and the only turbo upgrade would be a GTP-38R if you didn't want a factory based turbo.
