do those u joints have needle bearings in them? by the looks of it on my phone, it is steel on steel? prolly the reason they all have zerks in them...

U joints have a bronze bushing.

Reason for that is so the ears on the u joint can be bigger.

Bushing takes up less room then a needle bearing under the cap.

Ya have to machine OMG shafts to accept a full circle snap ring.

OEM use "C" clip snap rings.....they have a tendency to pop out under extreme use.

I'd say his truck is in the extreme use category lol

Here is how the new setup is going to run. Big thanks to Jared for hooking me up with those sweet RCD tube manifolds and HD up-pipes! These are beyond gorgeous! Plus they made less work for me to build on the new setup. The turbo is moved out front to allow the mammoth hx82 fit without cutting a hole in the hood. It will also make it easy to swap turbos back and forth for different classes.
So far I am way happier with this setup than the old one.

Got it all in and was able to fire it up! It has the 2.6 charger on it in the video. But I am hoping to pull next weekend so I have a lot of work to do still!

I'm surprised you didn't flip the manifolds around, and shorten the plumbing. Good luck with the new setup. The progress looks great though.

I really wanted to. But that would have required me to move the dual pumps and alternator. And that was not gonna happen! Thanks though. I wish I could have done it without all the runner length. But I spool at 5500 rpm so it should still be moving plenty of air to light that turbo. Never had a problem before so it should be fine. And it's super easy to work on now with a completely open valley.
