Time for an update here, it's been a whirlwind couple of days. I left early Tuesday morning for the journey to Morgans, drive went very smoothly and I arrived at his shop around 4. We then spent some time going over the motor, his pull truck and also the shop truck, and also his new building! I've said it before but Morgan is a stand up Guy, I'm very happy with my decision to do business with him.. And he's just a cool dude.

I then hopped back in the rig and headed home, made it to Kalamazoo Michigan before I stopped for the night.Next day I made it to the boarder around noon (which when surprisingly easy I guess importing "used engine parts" isn't very high on their priority list lol. Made it back to the shop around 5 and got right to work

Side note, a few other things got added to the build last minute
- stage 3 intake manifold with head port matching
- RCD dual fueler intercooler pipe
- Midwest regulator kit (his newly released lp fuel system without any of the lines and fittings

Pictures are just with the stock turbos for mock up at this point

checking in here on my build, haven't posted up in an a while. Their has been quite the negative vibe going on this last week on here so i thought i should post up a more positive story!

last time i updated i had picked the motor up from Morgan and put it all together, unfortunately we had an issue with the motor upon initial start up. i got in touch with Morgan the next day, we discussed options and concluded that it would be best if the whole truck just went down to him. Once we were able to get our schedules to jive we met half way and he took the truck the rest of the way.

Jump forward a couple weeks because Scheids took priority, The midwest crew was able to fix everything up, break everything in and set the gate appropriately.

this last tuesday we once again met halfway and i brought the little demon home!

Now onto the exciting stuff, this thing is a riot! I'm still getting use to it and driving it as much as possible before i drive it to hard. truck is smoke free and runs very cool around town and on the highway if you drive it smart.. but you realize it has ALOT of fuel when you lean on it lol, gates set at 48ish psi but it just blows the tires off anything more than half throttle anyways.

I was concerned that this 72/59 would be to small for the fuel on tap but it really hasn't got that hot so far, granted I'm on lower gearhead tune at the moment so it will probably get a little toasty when theirs more fuel down low. But for anyone thinking about going this route i think its a great option, with proper tuning it makes for a great setup. Off idle throttle response is amazing and spool up is very quick. Im sure the cam and full port job has a significant impact on all this also but ill say it works.

All in all i am extremely happy with the end result, and it makes it all worth it when i get behind the wheel. Ive mentioned it before but i can't say enough about Morgans professionalism and the way he takes care of his customers, Top notch. It was a ****ty situation but it was dealt with quickly and he took care of me.

Ill get some videos up here in the next week or so and I'm planning to get to the track one weekend this month. Im also hoping to make it to Rudys but i just realized that that is Canadian thanks giving weekend... soo ill do my best lol

Either ramada inn in Burlington (10 min from the track) or the quality inn in Durham right next to the shop (40 ish from the track I think)

A lot of people stay at the quality inn and the hilton in Durham. There is a good cookout place within walking distance which is a good place to get late night munchies, car washes, cracker barrel right next store. Down the road is the college and plenty of smaller places to eat. And rudys is right around the corner. Both hotels are normally pretty packed. The drive to the track isn't bad 35-40 minutes at most on a 75mph highway, normally a very quick ride :p

Looking for some advice with this rear differential. I had bought a trutrac, Yukon 3.55's and rebuild kit from Morgan back in the spring and never got around to getting them installed because the truck was apart... Well today I dropped it off at the local diff/tranny guy who has done a number of diffs for me with no problems. He called me today at lunch and said it's whining pretty bad and everything is set up right, backlash is at 7 thou, pinion preload is right and the last pattern looks great.. He blames the noise on the gears. So I picked it up in hope that some drive time would wear it in, but from what I've read it's either loud or quiet off the bat.
What do you guys think? Bad gear set? Guys wrong and it's not set right? I don't touch diffs and trannys for this reason Lol so I'm looking for some advice

On a good not I like the rpm drop, nothing crazy, but it's easier to drive around town but loads the chargers much harder.

well i got everything ready to make the trip to Rudys tonight. Haven't posted in a while so ill do a recap. truck has been running awesome! had a slight coolant leak which turned out to be a loose clamp so that was a quick fix, and I'm still chasing a very minor oil leak either from the front seal or oil pump housing, either way its very small and ill worry about it this winter.
I got looking at the engine bay of this thing a couple weeks ago and wanted to open it up some more. So i ripped the AC system out of it because i was never going to charge it up anyways... and I also bought a pair of Flex- a- light 2500cfm e- fans... Wow their is ALOT of run up front with the shroud removed! Ive been very happy with the results, Keep in mind this is a 100% toy truck so i would never recommend this setup for someone who works the truck.... but for DD/ hotrodding its been working great. Temps are actually lower by 2-4 degrees and access to everything is much easier. I wired them to a manual switch on the dash through a relay and 40 amp fuse... i haven't see over 194 yet even when trying.

the 8' bed also came in handy the other day, i put her to work! haha, thought it was comical

tonight i gave it another oil change, everything looks great, and borrowed a buddys 7" bed mount stack for the weekend until i figure out what i want to do. I had forgot how good this thing sounds straight piped lol.

anyways we will be leaving thursday morning for Rudys, I have no expectations as to how well it will run, the hope was to get it to the track before now but either the weather sucked or i was swamped with work. plan is to drive it over the the Rudys shop gathering thursday night as is then swap tires at the track friday morning.

See some of you then!
