What injectors are you going to run? Call up Barder or KC and ask about a stage 2.5 or a stage 2. The spool up will be better and I doubt there will be much of a power difference if you are going 190/75 and below. Just better spool up.

Ya I was there I was one of the guys that got the track ready with Cory and Clay's team. The truck looks different then my profile pic because I took that when I first got the truck and it was still stock. I was also at Dyno Proven's open house. I'm pretty sure you were there(I remember your truck because I couldn't stop drooling over that blue RCSB).

Thanks! Yeah.... I love this little truck. How do you like Gearhead's tuning with your setup? I really liked his tuning when I had stock sticks and stock turbo, but when I went to the bigger turbo it really disappointed. I don't think it was the tunes though, I really think this turbo needed bigger sticks to make it lite. It's got a prototype turbine wheel in it, so we had no clue how it was going to react.

Thinking about trying his tunes again now that I've got bigger sticks.

Sweet that may be the route I go. I'd love to try a small non vgt but will prolly start out with a larger vgt
I've heard guys say that they don't care for the non vgt on a zf6. It becomes real laggy.

In my oppinion I would just go strait for the 68mm, but thats just .02.

I've been really happy with gearheads tunes. Good response and not to much smoke on the bottom end. We ran gearhead and tsd back to back at Dyno proven and we got a 30hp gain with gearheads tunes.

Really? What tune from TSD? I have the super panty dropper

Lol this thread is really making me want to stay with my built 5r..... especially with the lag you guys are running around. My Barder 68 lites at 12-1300rpms.... NO LAG!!! I'm running 205/100's but am about to switch nozzle size to 50%. I'm also running Gearhead tunes and it runs pretty solid. Also, running PHP's ficm tuner for larger nozzles. I keep it on the Atlas 80 and get 18mpg, it also manages the smoke a lot better down low. Great thread BTW.

I was also hoping to hit the dyno at Riff Raff. Complete different truck since Dyno Proven open house when I put down 534hp, blown ypipe, dropping icp and trans slipping. Lol that was my main reason for going.

There are sometime that I wish I had an auto but I like being different, and selecting my own gears. Would be nice to switch back and forth when I want tho hahaha

Sounds like I'll be giving gearhead a call (again). I'm running Drew's tunes, and I like them, but I want to try Matt's tunes one more time.

Yeah man, the ZF6 definitely had its pros and cons. Awesome to have a manual, but it's definitely slower. No torque converter contributes to the slow spool. Mine really lites around 1800 RPM, but I have a 66mm turbo. Eventually I'll jump to a 68.

Lol only place you can do that is Thailand

Check the throat!...

Ya sometimes I wish I had an auto but I really love banging gears. I was running the SPD from TSD as well. It just seemed to be more slugish on the bottom end.

I'll be having mine dyno tuned in the next week or so by TSD. Then I can really let you Guys know how it does. I'm guessing I'll be really happy with it.

Really? Mine seems to have a lot of grunt on the bottom end. The whole rpm range it pulls pretty well. I've never run another tune on it just the canned sct tunes for about a week then the SPD. Maybe if I do go with another tune I'd notice it but for right now seems to do well on the bottom end

Negative, big black. The event is in October, 10th and 11th if memory is correct. I won't make it either. My birthday is 9 Oct, and the wife's is 17 Oct. I've already been informed that we will be going out of town those weekends. Gheyness...

I'm still running on my 175/stock injector tune so I'm sure it'll be much better.

Oh god, I'll bet that thing runs like **** right now! Have you done anything in terms of oil? Even if you aren't dropping fuel pressure and everything seems fine on a WOT run, Taylor said he felt a tremendous difference when he added the Thumper pump. You guys have almost identical setups (minus the transmission)

Can't wait to see what it does when you get it live tuned!

Does anyone know if mpd does live tuning? That's the only diesel shop I know of around me
