How big of a difference would taking it to innovative and getting it live tuned rather than just buying their tunes over the Internet?

Oh so on stock sticks and air it's not that effective?

Do NOT spend the money to get a truck live tuned on stock injectors and stock turbo... I mean, ESPECIALLY since you have a ZF6. Unless you just feel like wasting $500... send it to me. :)

Well . . .$500 seems a little steep. I think the last time I was on the dyno I spent $150 for 2 hours and a few tunes.

Still not worth it for stock turbo stock injector trucks. Plus all shops are different in their pricing. And it was a race tune for my truck. Not really good for anything other than dyno pulls. Was just trying to get the most power out of it.

Just get a high horsepower tune from one of the tuners and dyno it with that. Then when you upgrade get a dyno tune done.

Most tuners won't even touch your truck unless they get "X" amount of money for their effort/time. Now, there may be some exceptions - like at events, they may have a special rate to get you dialed in at $75/hour and that kinda thing. But if you want to meet them on their time, there's going to be a guarantee that they make at least "X" amount and it's usually a decent sum - therefore, getting your truck live tuned with minimal mods isn't recommended. The "generic" tunes that you can buy from tuners are dialed in enough on other stock trucks, that it should get you very close to optimal performance without having to have it live tuned.

Total Hearsay: $500 is what I've heard Eric charges to live tune a truck, at the minimum.

Anyone have advice on ported intakes? I was looking at WPE

I thought about trying to do my own but I don't wanna take the chance of screwing it up that's how my luck is hahaha

Is the wpe welded or epoxied back together?

As far as I know, wpe is fully welded, I'll get ahold of Nate and Matt and have them chip in info as well. Though I am also planning an attempt at a diy ported intake. Mind if I smoke, that would be awesome to see your take on this as well, I have an 03 intake, I have the planning, just not the time and sorcing the bungs to weld in once its all machined.

IMO the WPE intake is the best option on the market. It is high quality, cost effective, quick turn around time, and looks awesome.

They have a couple of different options. They do come fully opened up and ported on the inside. They are then welded up and new bungs installed.

Hit me up with any questions and I can hook you up

Here is a picture of mine... they can make them in any color

Here it is. I'm going to cut one more with some changes in it, but this one turned out pretty good for the first try. I strapped it down to the mill and cut the top off. Then went in a removed a $#!t tone of material. I machined the walls but I dont have a pic of that. I port matched the heads and bored out the inlet by .125. I did alot of hand polishing and ran a ball hone down through the inlet to each runner. after all that it got fully welded and is currently at the powder coater.
