You guys should go to Racerx he is a great guy, he sells transmissions and kits using red eagle clutches and kolene steels. I rebuilt my own transmission using one of his kits and he spent a lot of time on the phone with me and answered all my questions. I beat on my tranny and even had it up to 250 degrees towing a heavy load and it held up great. His websight http://racerxusa.com/

^^^ I've used his triple disk tc before my BTS and it worked great. He's a good guy and answers the phone. Also he's a sponsor here.

Just got outta the truck, reverse still works as it did last night. Drop in drive and you can feel it grab a bit.....hardly rolls though. Blip the throttle it'll grab then start slipping. Explain to me how a 4500 tranny built to hold at least double the hp the truck is putting out starts slipping and burning up clutches when all it's doing is highway miles and towing once a year? How hard are they to rebuild yourself

Misrepresentation of the parts used in said transmission. He doesnt build one trans as internet folklore propagates.

For every high hp success story there are two or three that are tore up by people running stock or towing setups.

I'd like to know where those came from also, only failures I've seen were high HP stuff like shafts and stuff

Hahahaha I saw hundreds of them go through WOP and very very few had an issue. One of them was owned a complete moron, watched him drive through a brick wall one time lol.

Unless you don't live far away, I'm not sure I would send it to him not knowing if he is gonna cover it or not. If you ship it to him and he don't cover it then you have to pay to ship it back to you and you have possibly as much as $500 invested and fixed nothing. If it goes in reverse fine and you can feel it try to pull in drive then more than likely it's just clutches. Have you tried to get it to move putting it in 1st or 2nd? I can't see it being the converter since it goes in reverse. And it's not the pump cause it takes more pressure to go backward than forward. It almost has to be clutches.
