Well I am planning a race truck build and got lost in cam shopping... seems like only a year or two ago the only cams on the market were the colt cams. Now elite, rcd, and colt offer different cams.

I don't see many threads on the subject and almost zero data on hp gains, which is better, etc...

Anyone running cams out there with any kind of info?

I am running a colt stage 2 in my DD and notice cooler egts and quicker spool up. Is there actually any before/after data out there? Anyone have better luck with either brand.

Elite has been doing cams well over 6 years for sure. Not sure if the thread is still around but power gains were minimal on the stg 1. Spool up and lowered back pressure were the biggest changes

Thanks man. I have seriously been looking at the Elite cams but will be going bigger than the 1x... I wish there was more info on the bigger cams. I am just so surprised there is so little data on the subject.

Thanks. I have actually been in contact with them since they started the thread on here. We will see how things go.

There is little data because very little ppl want to do the work of changing just a cam. No one now days wants to do their homework. They want everyone else to do the work.

The timing intervals are crucial to being able to drive the turbine eficiantly. With the new cams that we have been working on with Chris and doing R&D for has what we have been trying to ask of the cam companies for over a year to do ... It fell appon dead ears.... Chris seemed excited about what I was asking so we proceeded from there. Now that we have out grown the standard turbine options we are making changes and we will have more data. But that is not to be released until my testing is done. And the cam caps on power. We have the new order of cams coming in and should be here by the end of this week.
As far as the right up goes on the new cams will be very soon.

I had posted on Straub Technologies FB page about the testing that has been done on his cams and results so far. This is the response I got back from him. The guy seems really smart and very knowledgeable about them. Alot of great reviews about chris's cams on Straub Technologies Facebook page!

Ok so is Chris Straub offering different cams for towing, or race only, or dual purpose?
Some people have spent the time to have everything balanced for higher rpm use... (wider power band)
Is he upping the rpm range at all?

Not 100% sure Ivan. But it seems as if they will be based mostly on if head porting was done. All I know it that he will have a cam for stock heads(no matter how big the turbo(s) and injectors are), a cam for ported heads, and a cam for a stroked motor.

Chris will grind you a cam for you goals!!. Cams are not one size fits all.

Not really. He is only offering a few cams...that's it. There will not be any special cam grind for special mods...i already talked to him about it. There will be one cam grind for stock port heads, one cam grind for ported heads and a third cam grind for a stroked motor...that's it. Doesn't matter how big the turbo or injectors are...his cam is based on whether or not the heads are ported...no special cam.

Like I say we will have these cams in stock this week . Price is on website.

Good to know! Is it the stage 1 pusher cam that is listed for $1200 on your site? Or is that a different cam? Just curious because i see it listen on Straub Technologies FB page that they are $1095. Do you have any 6L results on chris' cam with stock port heads?
