To Retune or Not Retune

I purchased my 08 6.4 a little over a year ago. The previous owner had it tuned but could not give me much info on who or what tune is on it. I know it is not a high HP tune as it doesn't run anything near like my other trucks in the past but it's also not getting the fuel milage either, around 15-16 hwy.

It has an Edge CTS Attitude in it strictly for gauges which is how it was when I got it.

A buddy gave me his old vin locked SCT x4, forgot to give it to the dealer when he traded the truck in.

I'm stuck on the fence about what I want to do and what route to go.

mileage seems accurate for a six four. i would get an h&s tuner and overwrite whatever tune is in the truck.

My previous 6.4 had a ******* on it and would get 18-19 usually. It did had a FASS and RCD torque converter also tho. In order to Retune it I would need to have Ford reflash the truck back to stock right?

Thats why i suggested H&S, it will overwrite whatever is there-no reflash needed.

I've heard great things about "gear head" tuning. I currently have a H&S tuner with the tunes that came with it, I plan on purchasing the gear head tuning package for my 6.4... Eventually..

I'll look into them. I really wish I knew who tuned it before. The shift points don't seem right at all.
