front spring options

i have read a few threads on the 2 most preferred springs here but still a few questions. first is i currently have an 1.5” block on my springs and want to eliminate that. second is i am getting the infamous drives side lean and want to eliminate that as well. could i install a 2.5” lift spring and solve both problems? i am fine and would like another 1” or so in the front end. i am running rancho 7000 2-4” lift shocks so could i just install these springs with no other work? i am not wanting to get too tall due to pulling a toyhauler alot and plowing a little.

Just get the OUO coil levelers from Jared @ Midwest Diesel. They will solve both of your problems. His handle on here is Breaking Habits

250 or 350? What spring are on the truck currently?
There are a bunch of 2.5 inch springs out there, and your current shocks should be fine. Carli, OUO (one up offroad) and Icon are popular.

Unless there is something weird going on a fresh set of springs should fix the lean.

stock springs with 1.5 readylift block that was on when i bought it. and its a 350. don’t think i can pullthe trigger on the adjustable not that i would adjust it much but i live in the wonderful salt belt of michigan.

?? You use the adjustment on install to get the truck sitting at your preferred ride height and level side to side. You dont touch it after that. If you are worried about rust, soak it in oil spray after install and put antisieze on the threads. There is no guarantee new coils will fix your side to side differences. fwiw i have never seen a super duty level side to side even from the factory.

I've got the duel rate Icon springs. They cured *most* of the lean on my F250. I got the springs from Precision Metal Fab, who also makes spring shims, to help get things perfectly level. They make a lot of really nice stuff, which I've tortured over the years.

seems odd that springs all say f250/350. i would think springs for our diesels would be a touch heavier. so if i was to get aftermarket 2.5 springs they just insatll with no other modifications? remember i am removing spring spacers.

F250/F350s are the same with minor differences.

Yes, any 2.5in springs will bolt right in.

Front springs aren't made specifically for the F250/F350. They are made to spec and each has their own capacity rating. When one choose certain package/options that will drive the "correct" weight rating of the front spring. If you buy a F250/F350 with a gasser motor w/o the Snow Plow package you wouldn't get the 6k rated springs. You might get the 5200 lb springs. Last I looked there are up to 16 different front springs based upon weight capacity.

now i’m really confused. there are only 2 different engines and 3 different cab configurations and a snow plow prep package that could effect front springs. maybe i’m not seeing it but it looks like not many companies offer different weight ratings . most that i see just say f250/350.

Sorry I didn't mean to confuse OEM springs with aftermarket springs. Most aftermarket companies seem to focus on either gas or diesel motors over "weight rating" of the truck as F250 or F350. Some will not even tell you if they are for a gas motor or diesel motor as they are just building springs for height.

I'd guess if you really wanted to tune the ride you could get OEM 4k springs and use spacers for height.

Anyway sorry for the confusion and I wish the cut and paste below came out better.

Not to hijack this thread, but does a X Code (ACD) spring sound right for a 2015 350 DRW 4x4 with camper package sound right? I thought the camper package was supposed to have the heavy springs like the plow package? I have a custom moose stopper bumper weighing in at about 600# on the front end. I figured it wouldn't be that big of a deal on a truck rated for a plow, but I only have about 1.5" of clearance to my bump stop and I constantly hit it on the "nice" roads we have here in AK. My door sticker states Front GAWR = 5940#; Rear GAWR = 9650# and GVWR = 14000#. Am I missing something or is it possible the incorrect springs were installed? Or is that bumper just too much at factory height? All I can make of the P/N is ?C34-5310-ACD, so it doesn't exactly match what you have in the list, but elsewhere I searched came back as X-Code 4000 spring...

I'm looking at options as my factory shocks are toast with 58k on them and not sure if I want to do a spring spacer or not. I don't really want to change ride height too much with gooseneck and fifth wheel towing, but pogo sticking and hitting the bump stop is getting old. I'm also not trying to dive $2-3k into a full Carli set-up just yet unless it's my only option as I just bought new tires and I plan to upgrade when I go that route. Any suggestions or input?

For the 4k rating it seems as you have the wrong spring for a 4x4. For the cost of newer higher rated springs it could be an easy swap. Then try some Bilsteins for an improved ride while loaded. If the height isn't where you want it after the new springs a simple 1" front spacer would work easy.

That link is one of the places I referenced for my springs along to figure out I may have the wrong springs. I already plan on Fox shocks all the way around, but any shock would be better than the worn out ones on there now. Thanks for the input.

a week into driving with new springs and well worth the $$$. it almost feels like i’m not driving a straight axle truck anymore. really nice upgrade.
