My truck started to regen every 125-200 miles and I noticed a small amount of black soot inside the exhaust tip. Dealer told me the aftermarket CAI was causing the problem "more air equals more fuel". This does not make sense to me. Any help would be appreciated.
At least mine is consistent, 11.5 +/- a tenth hand calculated on every tank so far. Have 1,600 miles on her now and all have been mixed with it regening every 100-150 miles. Have not towed yet but will be in the next week or so, should be interesting. Hope the mileage improves, my old 7.3 gets...
Thanks for the reply sagebel, I have a B&W companion hitch from my old truck I will reuse. I will will have to install the gooseneck portion in the new truck. I haven't had a chance to check out the LCD screen at a dealer yet plus I hate being hounded by the voulcher's when I just want to look!
I am looking to buy a new F350 with the 6.7. Any insight from those of you that tow on a few of the options would be greatly appreciated. I will be using this truck to tow a 15,000 lbs +- 5th wheel and having trouble finding the truck with the options I want and need to narrow down the most...
Would like to look the other way but this is beyond a little lope not to mention it sounds like a Dodge (an old Dodge) when warm. Mine started out as a little lope but progressed into much more. This truck is not only my daily driver, I regularly tow heavy with it and have nightmares about tow...
The motor has 121,000 and bought the truck new. The oil has less then a 1,000 miles and has been changed at 3,000 with two exceptions when it went close to 5,000. Mods include Tymar intake, 4" exhaust, SD intercooler, TW tunes, SRP1 HPOP and gauges.
Did a CCT, #4 and #8 cylinders failed. I have been chasing the cause of a rough fluctuating idle and an increase in engine noise when hot for some time. The engine runs smooth and is much quieter when cold. I first tested in neutral and it passed, tested a second time in drive as suggested by...
Well I have been driving this hunk of crap for 4 months now, knowing it won't fix itself, just not having the time or money to deal with it. This is by far the most expensive mistake I have made modding this truck, idles rough, smokes, lost a solid 2 mpg both empty and towing, sounds worse than...
Earls/Holley make a line of high quailty oil/trans coolers that cost around the price of this unit but have a higher btu rating. I believe this cooler has a 45,000 btu rating.
Installed mech gauge to oil rail and found mech gauge reading 100 psi higher than ICP readings on scanner. Though it doesn’t seem like much, I will replace it to eliminate it. Does anyone have the ICP part#? Have there been a string of updated sensors like the CPS.
Thanks Tom, I have contacted AzPsd55 and after changing injectors, he still has problems. Tony hasn't returned my calls for three weeks, probably taking care of family matters. If there are tuners reading this, please chime in, is this possibly a tuning issue. I hate throwing parts at a problem...
