Elite trans cooler

Does anyone use one of these? http://www.elitedieselengineering.com/product/7C3Z-7A095-B/2008-Trans-Cooler/. my transmission is getting rebuilt right now and I am looking for opinions on this to see if this is worth getting? what else is needed to use this other than the cooler? thanks

You should be fine with a deep pan. Ive towed in 100deg heat and the trans never broke 185.

Alright thats what i figured but for the price i thought it might be worth it. any opinions on whether i should get a maghytec or pml pan?

Mag-hytech holds a fair amount more. Id go that way.

+1 for the Deep pan, dont think ive seen over 160 in the middle of texas summers driving around. not towing.

sounds good to me i will get one ordered up. thanks. it is getting elites rebuild kit, billet input, transgo shift kit, rcd 2200 stall converter, and deep pan. Anything else i should add? i am running the rcd 450 and 525 tunes with 66mm single turbo, s&b intake, intake elbow, elite cac pipe. when i pull the cab in the next couple months it is getting headstudded, elite pushrods, 6.0 manifolds w/ custom uppipes, airdog, valve springs, ported fuel rails, and possibly 30% mpd nozzles. this should be the end of the performance mods. at least for awhile lol

Earls/Holley make a line of high quailty oil/trans coolers that cost around the price of this unit but have a higher btu rating. I believe this cooler has a 45,000 btu rating.
