Little update on my new tunes with the added Exhaust Braking.
I went with a Canadian Company that was recommended to me. Took them about 4 or 5 revisions to get the truck to run correctly but it was worth it.
Braking is on all the time but its not annoying like I thought it would be when not...
Yes 17' turbo on the 13'. Swap was done by Powerstroke Enginuities in Houston.
I went with a Factory 2015+ HPFP since I'm not running bigger injectors.
I've been happy with my stock 17' turbo and HPFP upgrade. Although now I think I would have tried the new cheetah turbo that's out there just for the hell of it.

No, that option came in 15+. 11-14 only has trans downshifting in Tow/Haul mode
I rode in my neighbors 16' while pulling his stock trailer and the difference in his exhaust brake and trans down shifting was awesome compared to just my trans downshifting.

I have a 13' with a 17' turbo setup and would like to add on some type of exhaust brake.
Does anyone have any experience with the electronic modules that plug into the trucks wiring harness and use the factory turbo veins like the BD turbo or AFE kits...
:whs: This guy recently hooked me up with exactly what he is describing. Truck tows great (20 rolls of hay, 32' cattle trailer, etc.), never have to worry about egt's and will flat get it empty. And I leave the tuner on the 3rd tyrant setting when towing.
My dads 12' has 130k on it with a simple tow tune and d3letes. All factory turbo and fuel pump still and has pulled heavy **** most of its life. They are strong trucks. As said above, clean fuel is key!

I run a Jones Turbine 5050XL by itself on my 5" exhaust. Sounds good and no drone in the cab even when towing heavy. Not stock sounding but not loud and annoying either.
Cruising empty 800-850 EGT
Cruising loaded 1000ish EGT
Driving 70...
I'm a big fan of this upgrade. My truck runs awesome and smokeless.
I don't notice the slower spool-up but I can definitely feel the extra power. Truck tows like a dream.
