It's not piston to valve clearance to worry about when the heads are cut, it's the preload on the cam, when you cut the heads you add preload. Whether you should cut the heads is a complicated question and depending on who you talk to will change the answer. I've been through Fel-Pro's gasket...

Does anybody know if running boards from an AlumiDuty will fit on 99-16 trucks? or what it takes to make them fit? Also what are the good aftermarket running boards? I need to replace a set and nice OEM boards are a little scarce, but I'm seeing new take-offs from AlumiDuties for sale.

I have a 2012 6.7 here that doesn't make any boost, zero. It's not setting any codes yet, not even a low boost code. So I'm not sure exactly what the problem is, I checked the MAP and it had some build up on it, but not the problem, I checked the EBPS and didn't find anything plugged...

Will the engine come out with the trans still in? For some reason I think I remember it won't. I've done plenty of 4R100's but never a 6 speed.

If it's a no-crank/no-start, try disconnecting the fan at the connector in front of the fuel filter housing. I faulty fan clutch can cause that no-crank condition.

It sounds to me like a cracked injector nozzle, it'll dump so much fuel they are hydro-locking which is making the noise. When they are dumping fuel like that you can "taste" the diesel fuel when you can near the exhaust. If the nozzle is cracked you have a fuel pressure issue.

IIRC, there are two different size lower hoses on 03-07 truck, I think F250 had a smaller outlet for the bottom hose vs F350-F550

So it takes a nose cone swap to make a 6.7 starter work on a 7.3??? I was going to put a 6.4 on a 7.3, bought the starter and there was no way the 6.4 nose would bolt up to the 7.3. I've been using 6.4 starters in 6.0's and that's a nice upgrade, at the local parts store the 6.0 starter and...
