Steve said Colt makes the cams the OP was having issues with. Does anyone else know who makes cams for some of the other diesel companies? Who does Tadd use for his cams? For the record I don't know much at all about cams I was just going off of the information given to me by my engine builder.
Well I'm not going to tell who the first one was from because they are a vendor and do make tons of great stuff and I'm sure they had someone make it for them and I don't know who that would be. As far as the one I bought and put in my truck it was from Colt Cams.
Bump
Might have to sell the truck without the extra mods I had listed. If so I'll drop the price down. This might be better because some people might want to put twins on it or go a different route with some of the stuff. I'll consider all offers please PM me if your interested. Need to get...
I didn't read the whole post just the first page but here is my story. I bought a cam from a diesel company when I was having my engine rebuilt. The people rebuilding it profiled the cam, had it checked out to make sure it would work with my diesel engine, and the results were not good. The...
Just messin' with ya. Seriously though what about the wet sanding I asked about?
And what does Lulz and PT mean? Sorry I'm not up to speed on the shorthand stuff. :)
Hey Katie a serious question for you are you wet sanding your factory paint or did you have it repainted. If its factory paint what all do you need to do this if I wanted to do it myself. I would like to have all the orange peel off of my trucks paint.
Well I've decided to sell my truck for good this time. Along with my bad work situation I just turned in my divorce papers to my lawyer today. I'm going to be moving out of my house and into an apartment within the week. I'm also going back to work with my father but will only be making about...
Well I found a link and the 99-05 srw units supposed to weight 333 pounds. I would have guessed more like 450-500lb.

Best I could find a Ford 9" is around 185lb.
Yea I thought about the weight issue. Ya'll are probably right it might not last but I did see that one truck that had it done and it did hold up. It was a black crew cab 4 x 4 Dodge that it was under. I guess if it would hold up you would see alot of people with them too. I just saw that...
If I'm not mistaken that truck that did the rear axle swap was a Dodge 2500 and I believe the weight reduction was a little over 300lb. That's huge. And I wouldn't want a truck hacked all to pieces like some I've seen like you talked about. I mean that would work but not the way i would want to...
I was just wondering if anyone has done a Ford 9" axle swap on a later model diesel truck to drop weight for drag racing. It seems I recall someone doing this on the rear of a truck in Diesel Power mag. I know some of the Ford 9" units could handle the power because they are run on extremely...
