Cyl Contribution Test & Injector Placement

00' 7.3, with 160cc single shots I put in like 7\8 years ago, I believe from Full Force. I've never had my Forscan on the truck because I've never had to. Tried it out the other day for ****s and giggles, and ran a contribution test on it. It "failed" 3 & 8... This got me thinking, when I put...

01 seven three auto or man

As someone with a 6spd I love mine for daily driving, and light towing. I can squeeze better MPG out of it, better control on/offroad, *arguably* more reliable (only replaced the clutch fork and clutch once in 290,000mi). Having said that, bigger tires and stock 3.73 gearing makes the gear...

    CCV catch can location

I hope you don't run that setup in the winter 5 oh, or if you do, there's not a single droop in the line. I had my CCV dumped to atmosphere through 3/4" heater hose. Ran from doghouse, over the master and down to frame back to behind the cab as level as I could manage. Only took -15* day and...

    Decent Shocks On A Budget?

The Bilstein 5100's in my truck are pretty much finished and the ride has gone to all hell (2000 super cab short box, BDS front leveling kit, OUO traction bars). What's recommended for a shock that won't break the bank or my back? The 5100's were pretty stiff since new, so preferably something...

    Clutch Pedal Issue.

Anyone had the actual pin break off the clutch arm before? Anyway, decided to try a dirt cheap fix to erase the clutch pedal slop. If it works, sweet. If I find a flaw, ohh well, only cost about $1 in material and 30 min. Drilled out the existing pin, cut a 2.5"x0.5" bolt down to the right...

    7.3 coolant leak

Positive it's dripping from the rad, and not the water pump weep hole dripping and splashing off the drag link/trac bar or crossmember? No cracks/leaks in the degas tank? Is the coolant system pressurizing?

    CCV Hose Dia

Borderline stupid question, but... I'm sick of the vapor and cloud from my dumped CCV hose, so I'm adding a catch can. Is 5/8" dia large enough, or is 3/4" recommended? I have read guys using both, but figured I should ask.

    Sudden Hiss Through Speakers

It did it with the engine off, or on. Picked up a new Alpine 4/3/2 and got everything swapped out and changed out. Sounds great and the hiss is gone. Assuming I cooked it the other night, it looks pretty dated. Thanks for the suggestions though.

    Sudden Hiss Through Speakers

Pioneer Avic headunit to a cheap 4ch amp that was in the truck when I bought it. Speakers are JL 6.5" component's in the front doors, JL 6x8's in the rear doors. Listening to tunes all day while driving, then stopped off somewhere for a bit. Now, as soon as the amp's power up, there is a hiss...

    Power Sliding Rear Window Swap

Is it possible to swap a power sliding rear window into a truck that came without? I've never dealt with one, so I'm unsure if there is a difference in the rear wall of the cab or any other differences.

airbag light- checked all common reasons

Airbag light can be triggered by a few faults, one of the strange ones being if the light is burnt out on the passenger side air bag switch on the dash... Need a good scanner as said. The Scangauge won't pull any real codes on our trucks, I have one.

    Blown oil seal on turbo

Finally got time to work on my truck. Rebuilt the turbo (again), and buttoned that up, then pulled the CCV hose. In the hose between my doghouse and the end there was about 1/4-1/3 cup of milky/watery oil residue. Drained that crap out into a cup and sure enough it froze when I left it outside...

    Blown oil seal on turbo

Mine runs down the frame to the front hanger of the rear driver side leaf, so it's not short by any means, and probably has some low spots in it *stupid move*. I think condensation build up from outside temp/humidity, or the engine purging any moisture in the oil/crankcase could lead to water...

    Blown oil seal on turbo

That might be the cause, my routing is far from perfect, and I have noticed oil seep issues after cold temp starts before from various places. No idea why I hadn't thought of the CCV hose. Good call CTC!
