OBS Dually Swap with Disk Brakes & Ebrake

I've never actually measured the adaptors, but I use a 6" extension to pull them off to get at the axle- hubs, whatever, and thats plenty of length. Id guess the adapters are roughly 4" deep.

OBS Dually Swap with Disk Brakes & Ebrake

Recheck option 1. Super duties has axle mounted vss until 2010. Bolts in the top of the pumpkin. Whether it's the same style as obs, I don't know that yet for sure, but I'm going to do this swap myself at some point, so I guess I'll know for sure then.

    Dually swap?

99-03 dual axle will swap right in. Depending on body style, you may need to swap the rear joint. Check your driveshaft, but it should be fine. I swapped one into a 4dr short bed with no modifications. Seriously assess your current leaf springs before you start, this is a great time to swap...

    Won’t start

If the tank pickup has never been modified, fuel starvation is a distinct possibility. If you have the time and inclination, you could drop the tank and rule that problem out. Search "hutch mod " for a simple description. Otherwise, do some logging as suggested.

    Hard steer question/issue

I ended up having ball joints changed, again. The reman steering box is a bit sloppy, and the best the shop could do is 3*, without physically modifying the I beam. So yea, this truck still takes a lot of steering input, and I haven't had the want to to fix it, lol. It's not horrible, just...

    Won’t start issues

Check your wiring to the ipr. I've had the wires make contact down inside the plug, couldn't see it until I actually pulled the plug out of the valley to get a close look at it. Check icp wires also. If they short, the truck won't run.

Pull right out. Hose to the pump is on the bottom.

Fuel sending unit and wheel studs

Drop the tank, disconnect the wiring where it plugs into the frame harness, and disconnect the fill and fuel hoses. The fuel hoses take a quick disconnect tool, should be 5/16" or 3/8". Drive the big plastic nut off with a hammer and punch. If you're careful with the gasket, they are generally...

    E4od occasional slipping

Little update.. Boy says the transmission is doing better, doesn't seem to be slipping. He's driving it everyday, enough to get it thoroughly warmed up. Apparently, a new filter made it happy.... Still going to swap to a sd harness and 4r100, as time permits. He wants the 4x4, and, I'm sure...

    E4od occasional slipping

It's not the brakes, sometimes it occurs after the truck is moving. Acts like the torque convertor just failed. Few seconds later, everything moves perfectly.

    E4od occasional slipping

Just on start up. Everything looked good with the valve body.

    E4od occasional slipping

Dropped the pan, nothing unusual. Filter was tight, normal friction material. I don't think it is a fluid problem. I still haven't pulled any codes, so that's on the to do list. I'm pretty sure it's a valve issue, or converter issue, but, only when cold.
