Why the big push for single turbos over compounds?

Define late spool... Either way, it sounds like you're vehemently opposed to the idea of a single setup.

Why the big push for single turbos over compounds?

How about the sheer fact that a set of compounds should really be paired with new pistons. The 6.4 hates back pressure and there's far more risk of cracking a piston with a compound setup. Honestly, I would love to have compounds, but I don't really have the budget to build the bottom end.

how bad will I hate my truck if I go from maxpowers to 475 single?

Back pressure and building the bottom end was a huge turn off when it came to redoing my truck this time around. Besides, a big single sounds farking ridiculous.

how bad will I hate my truck if I go from maxpowers to 475 single?

    There's definitely a difference between a 72 and a 75. Hell, I noticed a difference going from a 66 to a 72.

how bad will I hate my truck if I go from maxpowers to 475 single?

Unfortunately, my opinion on this is rather skewed as I never had stock turbos on my truck. However, my single 72 with 60s and dual pumps runs/drives great. The turbo is a billet 72, .90 housing, 87/81 turbine, 360 thrust bearing. Spools quickly, makes good power and is fun to drive.

what fluid? SP or LV? Built trans

I went back and looked for your explanation on why you wouldn't run dex/merc in a TorqShift and I didn't see and explanation. Can you elaborate? Thanks!

6.7 project, the good and the bad.

^ this x10 Any extensive build will take time, you obviously knew that going into this, right? I feel that most extensive builds on trucks are very similar to building a house...you're quoted a time frame and then you have to add on a few months. My truck was quoted to be finished in a week and...

6.7 project, the good and the bad.

Typically it's not how it should work, but you're on here making a fuss. Did you call MPD and talk to them like a rational human being or did you just post here because you needed to vent? I'm not trying to assume anything here, but the biggest downfall of this industry is that nobody picks up...

6.7 project, the good and the bad.

Valid point. But as you also said earlier, Jared, as an early adpoter, you often have to wait. Sometimes, it's better to wait for the good things to hit the market as opposed to settling for the first thing to hit the market. I was the 2nd IDP tuned 6.7 (Nate being the first) and I was chomping...

The fact you'd even consider purchasing or running any parts produced by Confederate says plenty in my eyes.

    tranny tuning/lock up switch??

Bingo bango. Everyone has their own opinions on tunes, tuners, etc. Personally, myself, Mike and Josh all use Eric @ Innovative. I just feel his tuning is better and he's much easier to work with. Not to mention, he's been tuning the 6.4 platform longer than Matt/Gearhead.
