hey guys, im sure yall remember the topic i had about going single turbo with my truck, and at the end of the debate i decided to do so, and bought a kit off of a fellow member, and installed it on my truck. its the midwest diesel kit. install went well, took the factory turbos out and had the new setup in about 8 1/2 hours. (i was lucky with the up pipe bolts)
the charger i bought was an s367, SWEET turbo with AWESOME performance. spooled up around 2,200 rpm, and pulled like a train. i was overly excited at this point, so i made multiple pulls down the road at 30-40lb of boost each time. no problems. the drive pressures were 1:1. im on cloud 9 at this point. lol
i overlooked 1 problem i didn't think would have such an outcome, and let me tell you what i will NEVER leave a clamp loose, and / or forget to install one.the next day when i drove the truck to work i pulled intake off to install and tighten up the clamps once again (in case any loosened up, just a double check) and found the main intake boot on the inducer sucked in towards the turbo. and this is what i found,
it made me sick to my stomach and i couldve cried lol
so to make a long story short, since i cant seem to find ANYONE who sells the billet 67 wheel, i shipped the charger off to barder turbo services where it is getting his 66 wheel and a 66 housing. it will hopefully be here by this time last week and i can get the truck back in action.
im sure y'all are going to bash me for forgetting that and looking it over, and i know it was a dumb mistake. trust me i beat myself up over it everyday haha.
