A battery just for the audio

Actually on our trucks it would be the big 4 or 5 if you replaced the cable between both batteries. I would personally buy the cable in bulk because it will be cheaper. As stated already, use some string to figure out the correct lengths before cutting any wire. Don't forget to leave yourself...

to solder or not to solder???

Hopefully this does not start a pissing match. There is a lot of debate about which is better but what is most agreed upon is that a properly crimped connection is stronger. For any automotive work, a well crimped connection will work just fine. If you wanted to crimp and solder, even better...

whats a clean way of tapping onto the batteries?

If you are going to use that type of relay, make sure it is a continuous duty relay and not an intermittent relay.

    Phone Charger, How to Hardwire?

No mobile phone charges off 12V directly. There will be something in the head (part that plugs into the hole) that regulates the power to around 5V. Do what a couple of others suggested and get a new female charging port/ lead that the charger tip will plug into and then hard wire that pc...

    T-4 mount up pipe welds?

What exactly is proper pics? Please explain what that means? Yes, I would love for you to post your welding certification.

    T-4 mount up pipe welds?

Hmmm....Maybe it's just me but if I had a customer that received an obviously bad product, I would make sure the second item he received was above average. Why not just send him a new tig welded set even if it did cost you more money? Those holes cut in the tops of the pipes do look bad...

Which brand of waterpump? Airtex? OEM?

Supposedly Airtex used to make the OEM pumps. Either way, the same company that makes OEM parts will also make lesser quality parts for other companies that want to put their name on them. With that said, I have had an Airtex pump on my truck for about 3 years now in Texas heat with no problems.

    Battery Terminals

All the parts are from many different vendors. The wire was from a local welding supply shop. The crimp rings are from Waytekwire.com The dual wall heatshrink is from Waytekwire.com The boots are from Vtewarehouse.com The polarity heatshrink bands are from Wrangler NW. The website used to be...

    Battery Terminals

Here are the cables I made for myself. I did not have to use different battery terminals because the Optima batteries that I used also have the side terminals. I used the side terminals as you can see in one of the pictures.

    Battery Terminals

If you are looking for fancy/ nice looking go with some audio battery terminals. If you are looking for practical and ease if attachment/ adding accessories get some "military battery terminals". You can Google that exact wording and they will come up. You can get them from waytekwire.com or...

    T-4 mount up pipe welds?

I had not read the entire thread for either link but from the pictures you linked to in the specific posts, it is very hard see the quality of the welds and from what I can actually see, they look a whole lot better than the welds in this thread. The first link has all the items coated that you...

    T-4 mount up pipe welds?

Do you seriously think those welds will hold up on the up-pipes? Before you ask; I'm not a mechanical engineer but I have many hours of welding education and can weld quite well. There is poor penetration, they are disgusting (yes, a weld should look nice even if you cannot see it) and there...

    Doing it Gangsta

Are the lifters just the same size (width and height) or the exact same lifter is used in both? What are the spec's on the cam you will be using? Will it have similar lift and duration as a 6.0 cam or will it be more aggressive?

    Manual Fog Light Switch

It is not a good idea to run high amps through a switch. It would be better to run the ground through the switch if you don't want to use a relay.

I also believe you are going to lose a lifter. How many failures are seen in the heads?

    Possible Clutch Problems

I can slip the clutch in every gear now with only mild accelleration. I have come to the conclusion that either the pressure plate or the clutch itself is toast.

    Possible Clutch Problems

I had my hydraulic clutch reservoir replaced 3-4 months ago because of a stuck to the floor pedal. It has been working perfectly for the past 4-5 months. This past weekend, I noticed that my pedal seemed to lose 1/2 of the normal pressure it takes to push the clutch in or I apparently got...

    Fuel system is done

If you are refering to the green cover, I bought it off Ebay. It is the same cover they use on high temp. ovens to cover the wires. It is some type of expandable fiberglass mesh cover rated for extreme heat. I only used it because I got it cheap and wanted a good cover for the cables. If...

Fuel System with a different twist installed

I'm sure I missed something in the reading but what keeps the pump from sucking fuel through the return line when the main tank is full? Is there a one way flow valve on the return line? I would think the pump will suck fuel from the line that has the least resistance, which would be the...

    Fuel system is done

Every decent sized inverter I have seen needs to be connected directly to the battery. Instead of a terminal buss type bar, maybe use a fused bloack for your relays and other misc. accessories. See the link and picture below. I like to power my fuse blocks with large capacity relays but...
