You should check out the Polar FIS.

No start/cutout after overheat - Electrical?

Yes, pull the oil filter and inspect. Usually when they get that hot they melt the stand pipe, and if you have melted plastic going through the oil system it may not start/run very easy. Like Sootie said, not much else to go on without some way of monitoring things.

    Need a 6.0 Pep Talk / Advice

I wouldn't even bother studding a stock tuned truck honestly. EGR ******, new oil cooler, monitor temps and just drive it. I wouldn't stud it unless it actually does push coolant and even when they do you can usually still drive them to where you need to go. I've known guys who have driven...

    Big injectors and emissions

That is probably a question best asked to your tuner honestly. I'd also ask them what they think about the VGT/compound setup. It seems like everyone who has tried has eventually given up because of tuning issues. If you do get it to work and have some success please share here, I'd love to...

    Oil cooler Alliant vs oem

If memory serves, the issue with the Dorman coolers wasn't actually with the cooler itself, it was the gasket they used, which crumbled and disintegrated. I want to say I remember reading about a few people using the Dorman cooler and ordering a Motorcraft gasket to use and having no issues...

    Diy regulated return question

The banjo fitting came out of my Vegistroke kit, but I can find that info out. The banjo bolt itself was just one of those "banjo bolt mod" things on ebay. Similar to the 6.4 bolts, but it was 3 large open holes instead of 4 smaller or having to drill out the stock bolts. If you look at my...

    Diy regulated return question

I've run fuel into the back of the heads on my truck for a long time (Veggie system though). However I have a separate pump and regulator down on the frame, and feed into the back of the heads and have actual check valves in front of the heads to deadhead there. The stock regulator sucks no...

    tune s366 stock injectors

FICM tuning makes a huge difference on spooling non VGT's as well, in my limited experience.

Can I eliminate some or all of the boots that connect the piping?

That seems like a really small high pressure paired with a fairly large low pressure LOL. I like it. who handled the tuning on it? It seemed like the VGT was always an issue. What is he seeing for overall boost and backpressure #s?

Can I eliminate some or all of the boots that connect the piping?

I still haven't seen anyone successfully figure it out either. MPD was making a big push a couple years ago on it again, and then it went silent again.

    tune s366 stock injectors

This is a really old thread now, but still a good discussion I suppose. What does a diesel running lean have to do with anything? I wasn't saying there was anything being damaged, I just don't see any advantage of using a 366 over a smaller turbo on stock fuel. Once you hit the point of...

Can I eliminate some or all of the boots that connect the piping?

The problem you may be overlooking is that the intercooler is mounted to the body of the truck, and the turbos are mounted to the motor. The motor is moving separate from the body so there is flex there. There needs to be something to allow movement, or you will simply break the CAC tubing...

Maximum, sustainable RWHP for a stock, 5R110 before upgrading? Experienced conclusions only.

Correct. My converter went from driving like an idiot with early lock up tunes on the street. Like I said, my own doing. Merely pointing out that nothing will hold up to stupidity, even at lower power levels.

Maximum, sustainable RWHP for a stock, 5R110 before upgrading? Experienced conclusions only.

I've broken two on nothing but tuning. First one the converter imploded and sent shrapnel throughout the entire trans. I'll chalk this one up to my own doing. Second one was never really right from Ford to begin with so it's hard to say. I did break the flex plate on this one randomly one...

Stick with a dry filter either way. AFE and S&B are great. I like AFE's filters.

This thing is a monster and it's not even dialed in fully yet nor is it turned up all the way. Awesome stuff.

6.0 white smoke. Runs fine. No codes.

Nope, honestly the truck still seemed to run OK despite the white smoke issue. I was pretty heavy into repairing FICM's at the time so I was constantly listening for injector buzz and monitoring injection stuff with AE. Truck seemed to run OK other than the smoke. As soon as it gave up on me...
