    Offroad bumpers

That's some convincing info. I had a Ranch Hand Legend on my OBS for a couple of decades, so I know what it was. I saw first hand how it slung venison. I think I'm going to visit a dealer and do a good inspection.

    Offroad bumpers

I just checked the difference between schedule 30 (GR Trailer) versus schedule 40 pipe (Ranch Hand). Schedule 30 wall thickness: 0.188" Schedule 40 wall thickness: 0.237" I need to think about that? The purchase price is attractive, but I'm investing in the bumper to keep a deer's/millennial's...

    Offroad bumpers

Very cool, I don't see any prices. What do they run about. I'm going to be purchasing one in a month or two. I need to get a DCR on my 22 first.

    Death wobble, my turn!

Good to know, thanks. The experience for me, freaked me out at the time. I was pulling our 33 foot 9,500 lbs travel trailer on I10 in Arizona. When I hit the bridge aprouch, I coudn't steer. I just did a death grip and slowed as fast as possible. I will definitely be inspected the front end...

    Death wobble, my turn!

Yes they did. I'm very happy with the job they did. It was not one issue that caused it. The bottom ball joints and all the tie rod ends had a small amount of play, which added up to enough to cause the death wobble. And in the end, it's been about 100,000 miles since I went through the front...

    Death wobble, my turn!

Thanks for all the replies. I gave them a list of what I want checked and that I want all the old parts. Essentially all steering and suspension related parts. There deisel mechanic owns a 97 F350. So we had a good conversation. We are waiting on parts now.

    Death wobble, my turn!

Yes, I do have a weight distribution hitch. It's a Husky 1200 lbs. I have pulled this camper over much rougher roads and with no problems. Something has changed.

    Death wobble, my turn!

It's a F350 with a Dana 60. Since I'm pulling our camper from the Arizona desert to Wisconsin, I have minimal tools. I'm going to ask them about the wheel bearings also.

    Death wobble, my turn!

No lift , never had a steering stabilizer and stock wheels with Cooper AT3s. Something has changed/worn which allows side oscolation of only the right front tire when it hits a bump/hole.

    Death wobble, my turn!

I experienced the death wobble for the 1st time. I was towing our 9,500 pound camper on I10 at 65 mph. It happened on a rough bridge approach. Good thing it wasn't on a corner. It happened a few more time traveling ~140 miles to the boondocking site. Traveling at 55 or less reduced the...

    Blue top steering box

I have had a blue top box in my OBS for a couple of years now and tow a travel trailer all over the west. I'm completely satisfied with it. I talked with the proprietor and ended up adjusting the lash to zero. My OBS steers like our Accord now. I had to relearn not to over steer.

    A better 7.3 cam sensor!

FWIW, a few years ago I had a CPS episode. I wasted a lot of time and money on it. I finally cleaned all the under hood grounds and soldered a quality shielded cord in from the CPS to the PCM plug. I also ran the cord from the CPS to the passenger fender and across the firewall for extra...

    CAT Filter #'s anyone?

Primary filter/separator Cat 175-2949 & secondary Cat 1R-0749 (2 micron absolute). These are extended service, why not?

    99-04 steering wander

I have zero wonder, it handles like our Honda. 1st. All suspension and steering mechanics need to be 100%. My blue top box is adjusted to zero end play, YES. My steering shaft had slop, took it out and penned it with a hammer and chisel until snug. 2nd. DIY high steer to...

    GTP38R vs the KC2

For what it's worth, I will chime in. I have had a 300x 63/70/84 for two years now. I have ACs, 3.55 gears and a ZF5. Pulling a camper through many many mountains in the west, I could not be more satisfied. At 1400 rpm, there is 6 or 7 psi and climbing fast. I have seen 37.4 psi using...

    kc38r vs kc300x

I have had a 63/70/84 for two years and I'm very satisfied with it. Charlie recommended that version based on I have a ZF5 and 3.55 gears (truck in sig). No smoke unless I'm not thinking, no staring at the EGT numbers and there is 6 or 7 psi by 1400 rpm. My previous turbo was a 38r; the 300X is...
