    I don't have an obs so I don't know how differant the systems are but I had the same problem. Disconnected the gpr and relay on passenger fender hooked it back up and its fine now. I think I originally had the cable to the gpr on the wrong post on the fender relay.

    Thanks that is probably the most helpfull reply I've recieved back. Just for the fact that I didn't know there was a shop that close with such a good reputation. We have almost nothing in the area for diesel and the one truck shop doesn't do their own work they send it almost all of it out.

    Is there a way to tell what kind of turbo i have now. on the back it says 1.00 A/R and right above where it says GARRETT is a number-383ECL18686. I'll try to get a pic when there is more light out.

    Yeah I went back to advance and had it tested it was bad. They tried giving me the last good one on the shelf so I told them to test it. Low and behold fails for D.C. volts too.     I figured it out with the test light. I messed up when I replaced my cables. I accidently put the fusible link and wire that runs to the gpr from the starter relay on the wrong post on the starter relay. Thanks and now I know.

    So I've burnt another altenator and have been told the gpr can do that if its staying on. I was wondering is there a way for me to test it or do I just need to replace it and the altenator and hope it doesn't burn up again? Thanks.
