Just got a call from my dad, and our farm truck which is an 01 F-350 7.3 will crank good but will not start... I'm not home to look at it right now but I was just wondering what you guys think

First of all, check the batteries. Second, we need more info than "It cranks but won't start".

Well to be more specific..... Over the phone my dad told me that so I took it as when he turns the key, the engine will turn with plenty of cranking power, but it will not turn over "Fire" and will not run at all. I don't know how much more specific I can be considering I'm not home right now...

True but if you're at "that point" with engine oil it will sputter and then die, sputter and die, then it'll run and die only to not restart.

unless he parked on a grade or ran it for a long period before shutting it off.

here in the rust belt lately I have been seeing ebp tubes rusting out and in return the tube gets extremely hot and melts the cps wiring

Oh shti! Mine was packed full of.soot. So.tightly I broke a tiny drill bit trying to unplug it. I threw the tube and sensor in the garbage. Got the relocating tube.and ford sensor from strictly and hell with it. So there are people who literally never look at the tube. I mean if its rusting out?!

had one 2 days ago that the other stealership was pushing for a new pcm and said my chip fried it. they wanted $1275. he called me and said "hard to believe the chip did that after 7 years" he had it towed in, chip and computer bench tested good. it got a cps pigtail and ebp tube. truck runs perfect again

Those stupid boogers! I argued for.two hours last summer with my ford dealer about how a torque converter scatters trash when it goes. And they kept coming back with "the fluid doesnt mix". At one point I told them they were ***kin hopeless and told them to give me my new converter and leave it in the.box. Ruined my trans because the recalled converter did just as stated and stripped itself and scattered trash throughout. 2200 later they sent me a satisfaction survey.

Exactly... The truck has ran fine since the winter when I did the idm and uvc injector harness. It's daily driven on our farm and today would just not start.

Well after a new CPS the truck is doing the same thing... cranks good but no engine fire. The tuner did read two codes which were 1670 and 0475.
