Hi guys. I’ve been struggling with this for a couple of days now, but my new to us 7.3 was started up the other day and the WTS light stayed on for the 15 mile trip home. I was told about it afterwards so I went and checked on it and it won’t start. So after a couple of days, here is where I am at with it -

- 02 F250 4x4 7.3 with 115K miles on it
- Crank only, no start
- WTS light stays on
- Multiple scanners will not recognize the vehicle when connected, including one with Forscan, unable to read codes as a result
- Replaced the CPS with NAPA model because the local Ford dealer didn’t have one on the shelf and it’s Memorial Day weekend
- Removed PCM to check the pins, no damage or corrosion, grounding clip in place
- Checked all relays and fuses, all fuses good and all relays appear to function when swapped with blower location
- Unplugged IPC, no change
- IPR looks to be intact, including wiring at the plug
- Fully charged batteries with external charger
- Full of oil
- Fuel pump sounds like it is running when key is turned on
- ?

Can anyone help me figure out what I am missing? Thank you in advance.

Try unplugging the fuel bowl heater. It’s the white connector in the fuel bowl

Leaning towards a bad PCM. Any thoughts on these guys? Is there anyone better?

No oil leaks and yes, the IPR nut is still firmly in place. Still unable to connect with the PCM via the OBD port.

When the bowl heater shorts it blows a fuse for the pcm, can’t remember which one off hand, but before condemning the pcm check all your powers and grounds.

We’ve had decent luck with those guys on idms, can’t say I’ve ever run a pcm from them

Thanks. I have checked all the fuses and verified 12v present on all appropriate fuses with key off and key on with a multimeter. Checked the OBD port with the meter and have 12v and grounds.

Gonna call DTC tomorrow and see what happens next.

When my PCM failed the wait to start light was on all the time.

Just sayin,

Emailed with the DTC folks and they were pretty helpful. Gave me some more tests to run with the meter, so I will be doing them to see if the PCM is still salvageable.

I had a similar issue, it turned out the USB board in my laptop had fried. Just saying...
I have tried a scanner as well, not just the USB scanner.

Worked through their continuity and voltage tests and everything comes up roses, so I guess it is going in the mail.
