Long story but I'm going to sum it up....

-truck has over 280,000 miles on it
-oil, and filters haven't been changed in a while (my buddies truck, not mine)
-was riding with him, and notice little puffs of black and white smoke
-then truck gets stuck in mud, and as we try to get drive out, the truck black/white smokes more
-then truck makes a thud noise in engine
-we get pulled out, and my buddy drives his truck home
-next day my buddy drove his truck into a ditch (idk why I wasn't there thankfully)
-i go and try to start it, but no luck
-put fuel in it, try to start it...no luck
-end up having to pull it home

So what could this be? I know him driving it in a ditch didn't help any thing....but did he blow his turbo, are injectors dead, what could it be?

cam sensor, ipc, ipr, idm, fuel pump tons of stuff it could be. Need to put it on a diag tool, find someone with one, you can change lots of high dollar parts before you find it without testing, I know that really aint what you want to hear but its the only way to go. Turbo will not keep it from cranking, and all injectors didnt just go bad.

I think he hit the ditch pretty hard.

And yeah, I know its going to be high dollar. His truck not mine. His poor care for the truck is going to cost him some cash

Is it getting fuel in the bowl? Been a while since I had my 2000 but dont they have a fuel pump reset button, In a accident it kills fuel pump, Idk if superduties ever had them but lots of Fords do. Maybe someone with more knowledge will chime in.

As stated, look for the inertia switch, on the top of the passenger's side kick panel. Push the button on the top.

Unless you can hear the fuel pump running.

I see no button.. Do I take the panel off or what?

Although this is not exactly the same setup, this is the fuel inertia switch, button is on top of the switch, it can be pressed down without removing the kick panel.
