03 EGR unplug?

I have read forum after forum after forum, trying to find the answer to one simple question. If i simpily just unplug the electrical connection on the egr valve will it hurt it. I know i should just get a delete but i am a tightwad. Just ordered the Sct 3015, and it has the egr delete tune, so can i just flash it on there and unplug it and it run fine or will that just make things worse? Hopefully someone has a 100% answer for me? Thanks in advance.

It will keep the egr valve closed but will throw a check engine light until the tuner is uploaded. The egr cooler still has a good chance of rupturing though. Eventually it will need deleted. Along with the oil cooler replaced

I have 03 and have had my egr unplugged since 2500 miles I'm now at 104,000 with the last 40,000 miles having exhaust blocked from egr cooler. Never check engine light or egr cooler problems tuned or stock.
