05-07 Front End Conversion Questions

I am planning on swapping front ends this weekend.

I have the header panel, lights and bumper.

Ran into one snag.. The fog lights and bracket are MIA from the 05 bumper.

Can I swap my 02 fog lights and bracket onto the bumper?

no. the lights have a different bracket.

Well I found a set of fog lights w/ bracket so that problem is cleared up.

Next question....

What kinda price should I expect to paint the top of the bumper to match my truck?

$200??

I've heard of anywhere from 100-200 depending on the shop. or you can take a chance and paint it yourself.

Andy, if you're not in a rush and can get it to STL, I could get it painted for cheaper for you. Not sure exactly what the price would be, but let's say $100. My bodyguy painted my bumper piece and 4 fender flares for $120 (I bought the paint myself, he also painted my bed). My uncle also does bodywork, he painted my new tailgate after I crushed the last one.

120 to get the one painted for my current truck.

I painted mine myself. Wet sanded, 2 coats of plastic primer, wet sand, 2 coats color, wet sanded, 2 more coats color, wet sanded, 2 coats clear, final wet sand. Turned out really nice.

Also, if you're looking for a body-shop out in Rolla, I'd recommend the dude out past the highway patrol, down highway Y. He does good work.

Got it swapped.. Still thinking of painting the front bumper blue.. Thinking I wanna color match the door handles and my KR mirrors

nope.. fuel tanks.. no fuelboxes in anything. Hoping to snag another L-shaped tank to replace this one.

Gotcha. I'd love to find a slim fueltank to go in mine, one that would fit under the toolbox and tonneau. I'd only have to fill up like 2-3x a year then. imp:

How many brackets did you use to hold that bumper up. I am going to pick up my 05 bumper tomorrow and the place said there is 8 brackets... do I really need all 8? I was thinking just the two that support the painted plastic piece and the two that bolt around the tow hooks.
