What are you guys running for street tune with190/30's and stage 2 vgt? Other mods are Innovate ficm tuner, air dog 2, egr cooler welded, snow stage 2 set to come on at 18 psi and full on at 30, intake and exhaust. I was running xtreme street with stock injectors and turbo, and really liked it, however the same tune re written for the injectors and turbo is smokier than a vegas casino. Getting on the highway it doesn't clean up for chit even on the meth. Charlie talked with the guys at the shop i deal with and recommended the tsd super panty dropper, but iw was pricey, and he recommended not running yhe ficm tuner.

I would like something pretty clean for the street that still hauls ass when needed. Slight haze is ok, but as of now, getting on the highway i can't see the entire on ramp.

And i'm kinda slow with picking up names and figuring out asterisks, so if you could kinda make it so i can re a d whose tuning, that'd be great.

Tsd spd tune. I have 195/30s and this tune woke up the truck like crazy, and it doesn't smoke bad at all.

I vote Gear-Head. I had 210/75's and a barder 68.

reduced fuel srl was perfect for DDing plenty power and low smoke.

I used the Full Fuel SRL to have fun .

What FICM tune are you running? Turn it down to the inductive heating strategy and drive it.

When I had the truck I couldn't figure out why it was so smokey (even on reduced fuel tune).

I changed the ficm down to the inductive heating (stock tune) and it cleared up all the smoke and egt problems I was having.

I will try dropping the ficm tune to inductive heating and see what happens. I just emailed them again with what the tunes are doing and reiterated that i have the ficm tuner. I dont know if that info was relayed to the tuner from the sales guy as i ordered the tunes over the phone, so we'll see. The ficm tuner is from idp as well. Thanks for the input.

I'm hoping they can get this working as i've dumped a hell of a lot of money in the truck the past month. I dont really have the money to spend on all new tunes ya know. The tsd tune thru charlie was damn near what i paid for the three tunes from idp.

90% of the time a FICM tuner will HURT and NOT HELP if you have larger nozzles. If you have a tuner then just try unloading it and see if that helps... it only takes a few minutes to check.

Also it is important to note that going to take some getting used to going from stock turbo and stock injectors up to a larger turbo and larger injectors. You will have to learn to roll into the throttle just a little bit before punching it.

Also you can check for the typical boost/exhaust leaks and faulty sensors. Make sure you are maintaining ICP. Also I would make sure the vanes are cycling correctly... A bad/faulty sensor would cause the turbo to run poorly.

Buying a couple tunes from different tuners is a GREAT investment. It could change the whole driving style of the truck... making it more of a setup that you love.

A stage 2 turbo does not usually 100% clean up 190s... but it should come pretty close.

Send us an email if you want to walk through your setup and do a little diagnosing to make sure nothing is wrong.

Everything mechanical and electrical seems to be fine. Truck runs like a raped ape at wot. I also purchased xtreme x from them, and as crazy as it sounds, fuel strategy seems to be about the same between the street and x tunes. This is based solely off the rear view mirror test and nothing else. The x tune does sound like it runs a lot mre timing, but smome wisethey are very similar. Since i received re created tunes from idp, i have not driven the x tune as i'm not too worried about smoke and driveability on the track, but the street still smomes really good. Truck runs extremely clean on the tow tune, which will also double as emissions tune.

I will drop the ficm tune down, as the super chips flash paq they sell the tune on requires me to re flash the ficm to stock with the ids to pull the tune. Hopefully that helps.

What he said^^ my truck had 2 different sets of tunes, one set was from IDP the other from GH.

Going from the IDP set to the GH set made it a whole different truck..

IDP was hot and smokey little laggy tochy pedal, shifts were a little iffy.

GH

Shifted perfect, low smoke and instant power no lag.

I run a stage 2 and 190/30s for my DD. I also have the PHP FICM tuner and am currently tuned with the TSD SPD. IDK why but the truck runs better paired with the 80 FICM tune as opposed to the lesser tunes, temps were the same too. But my truck runs great. Hardley smokey at all, unless I let it. KC is right, you have to get used to driving it vs the stock.

Ok i turned the ficm tune down to inductive. It still smoke a hell of a lot but it is less now. I sent something off to idp again, and i'll see if they can maybe modify it.

As far as learning to drive it, i know that there is a learning curve here and am trying to figure it ou. Rolling into the throttle until abou 2300 and then smashing it still leaves a blacked out street. If it was a major puff when going full throttle that would then clean up i wouldn't be too worried. But this makes it so you can't see the street, on ramp, etc behind you until i back out of it. Then i can watch the smoke hang for a good 3-5 seconds before its decently dissapated.

I'm Running 190/100's, and a stage one powermax with IDP tuning. My trucks a F*cken animal. It took a few tries to get everything dialed in but I'm glad I stuck with them. Give them some time, I'm sure they'll get it right.

I would go through and do some datalogging to make sure everything is good.

Do a good WOT run and check the following at WOT after a few seconds and report back

Boost
EBP
VGT duty Cycle
ICPv
Inj Pulse Width
IPR Duty Cycle

When are you going to be back at diesels and more? I can get this data and taln to you about it. Also, if there is anything else you need checked, it wont be a big deal to take the truck out.
