1997 7.3 Low base oil pressure when warm

Have a 97 7.3. Truck is very underpowered,keeps throwing ICP low codes. after gets warm will not restart. Base oil pressure very low. Put manual gauge on and will hardly build 5 to 6 psi. Pulled the front gerotor pump to inspect. Looks perfect. No scoring no marks. Looks good. truck has about 180,000 miles. No smoke no real blowby. Oil pressure cold engine is 50 60 psi. Think I'm looking at a bearing issue or what may be the cause of the low oil pressure issue? Thanks

I would start by replacing the pump.

Ok Even if it look just perfect? Cover also or just the pump and gears?

Did you put a straight edge on the cover and check with feeler gauges?

If the cover is OK, I would reuse it. I am not sure of specs for it, but I am sure you can find them.

Bearings, without a doubt.

Possible cracked pickup tube.....try overfilling the crankcase with 2-3 qts.
