2002 instrument cluster quit

Got someone with an 02 automatic truck that the instrument cluster quit working on and his throttle response is down. Any thoughts on what it might be? It is located pretty far from me so I haven't actually gotten to look at it yet, but I'm trying to see if there's a common issue to look for so I'm not running back and forth a bunch. Thanks in advance

Check fuses. Had a similar issue with one few months ago.

You're gonna have to replace the shifter on the column.... the wire harness for the overdrive cancel switch rubs on the steering column and chafes the harness open, shorting it out and blowing fuse F2.45 (10A) in the central junction box located right below the steering column. Fuse F2.45 controls the O/D cancel switch, instrument cluster, 4x4 control module, and the accelerator pedal position sensor (no throttle response... they'll idle only). New shifter, new fuse and you'll be good to go :thumbup:
