Got word today, its as bad as we all had thought. Not sure what I am going to do with it. Will still currently run and drive but will most likely need an engine.

Contemplating a new truck, and wheeling this in as a trade in.

Will do, I'm not sure how cheap you guys are looking to scoop this thing for. Its killing me with the amount of cash i have in it. Half of me wants to put a new motor in it, but with what I'm doing for work, I really just need reliability.

Not to keep bumping my own thread but, I've got questions.

How often do 6.0 lifters fail?

And how is it possible to have a blown head gaskets on a truck after studding and deleting it only 30-40k miles ago?

Im having trouble wrapping my head around the completely abortion that is the 6liter.

It's pretty common for them to fail.

And I've seen the gaskets fail in way less than that with a sub par stud job. Lots of factors that could cause them to blow again

the 6.0 is not an abortion... but it can't be worked on haphazardly. They are actually pretty easy to keep on the road, but you can't cut corners.

The fact that a shop had the heads off and didn't replace the lifters is a bummer. It's such dreadfully cheap insurance that it's flat out criminal not to STRONGLY RECOMMEND a fresh set of lifters when the heads are off :(
