Does anyone offer aftermarket hubs for the 05+ front axles? Last I checked no one offered any, unless you went with a free spin conversion. I ended up having to go with Ford hubs.
I believe dyna trac does. But dont quote me on that. Warn does not make them for these trucks. I tried when I exploded a drivers side hub. I ended up putting stockers back in.
Yeah, on my black truck i learned that the auto feature is only good for messing the hubs up, 18k miles, only about 1k of that was tuned and they both were junk, put in some new hubs, locked them in all the time, and they looked fine when i did the gear swap.
its all a crock... I see the same mileage now as i did stock, every setup in between, injector/nozzle configurations, tuning, turbos. Its all in everyones head
Unless you want to spend thousands getting rid of the UNIT bearings then you have no options and I think this is a patent thing because WARN has and still makes the OEM HUBS
and the manual OEM just has printed on the hub lock/ unlock on the outside vs auto/ manual IIRC ( minus the diaphragm is good to know I always wondered )
and I really think unless your doing some serious pulling or crawling the OEM / warns and Timken unit bearings are perfect
heck I have 90+k on a lifted oversize tire truck and only lost 1 hub seal and an ESOF actuator
meh, the rear driveshaft pins all the time, and the u-joints last 100k usually, same with the pinion and wheel seals in the rear, IMHO no different then the rear. Sure thats more moving parts but the hubs are expensive to break so i can deal with a little extra wear
U seen how fragile the front ESOF seal is or how fun and $$ it is to replace even if DIY ? They aren't oil bathed like the rears
it's a friction seal I had never seen one before replacing mine
my point on the drive shaft was more of fuel mileage / pinion seal /fluid/gear wear and not replacing a u-joint those are about the best component wear wise
