I have seen this done on a few trucks for sale but I was curious if anyone on here has done this conversion. I want to do it but would like to know what all is entailed do accomplishing this conversion. Axles will be off a 2005 Superduty or a 2010 Superduty. Thanks in advance.

Make sure you get the 2005 axles.

sway bar link mounting points are wrong on 08+ axles-so...use the 05 one.

You will need from the donor truck:

pitman arm, front axle with all steering components including drag link, coil springs, radius arms, Track bar bracket, coil buckets, radius arm mounts, front drive shaft, shocks.

Tools will be a drill and good bit set, hammer, cold chisel and a good impact gun.

To add to sootie. If you change your steering box, you'll need a new pitman arm.,

If you keep your stock gearbox. You need to Reem out your stock pitman arm.

I will be doing this in the next few weeks with my Excursion. Putting 06 axles under it. I have everything mentioned above and will be going with an 05+ steering box and pitman arm. Most likely will send it infor a core on a redhead steering box.

Also will need 05+ wheels as the offsets different due to the wider 05+ axles.

Link to my thread. Should start getting active on it starting tonight with stripping the Ex down to the frame to start the suspension mounting.
