It can be done, but it's not a simple bolt on job. The front bumpers mount differently. The structure behind the "top of the fenders" is different on the 08+ trucks, almost lower sort of. so you need to make simple "brackets" that bolt to the fender aprons an then the fenders bolt to them. The cowl is different and the whole rad support aswell.
The 99-07 front structure between the rad support and firewall persay is stamped steel and the 08+ is more tubular.
It can be done by all means. But I wouldn't expect to have it done and lined up perfect in a weekend if its your first one.
There is a lot of small things too. The headlight pigtails if I remember correctly, the tow hooks on the 08+ are incorporated into the bumper brackets.
