Hey guys, I searched and couldn't find the info I was looking for. Basically I'm just looking to see if anyone has their hands on a '15 450 yet (no C&C) and what they think of it. Are that as improved over the last gen as they are advertised to be? My dad is looking very hard at getting into a brand new one. There are none around here on the lots to test drive and he doesn't want to put in his order without any real feedback.

Thanks in advance!

I dont have a 450 but I do have a 15' 350 and if Ford is putting this power plant and trans in everything from an F250 to the F650 I believe. Ive pulled my 26ft camper easily, theres lots of power and great diveability. I test drove a 350 drw and it was a nice ride and so stable! With the upgrafes that ford did they solved almost all issues that the previous 6.7s had. This link lists the differences from 2014 to 15 6.7s.

I have a 2015 F450 4x4 Lariat Ultimate...Awesome truck...I pull our 38' 16K 5th wheel...The exhaust brake is a huge improvement...Hope it turns out as reliable as the 2011 F350 SRW (Gen 1), that thing never had an issue.

The F450 is so much smoother in ride and power delivery than the 2011 F350.

While it may be the same engine, the cab and chassis models have different tuning with a lot less horsepower. The higher horsepower version is in all the pickups, (F250,350, and 450).

Thanks for all the feedback so far! It really helps! I've been busy w/ dental school so I havne't been able to be on here reading up on everything the last few months.

UpstateDieselGuy I thought I remember the 450's got a big bump in particular in '15. Did they move that to the 350 and 250 as well?

No experience with a 2015 but I just picked up a 2014 F450 Platinum. The one thing I did notice was the 4.30 gears make this thing a BEAST!

I don't know if I would be able to notice any difference if I drove the two back to back. This truck will cruise down back roads in 6th gear going 30mph. Its very hard to get used to in the beginning. On the highway at 65mph my tach is at 2000rpm. I have some goodies coming for the truck to suit my style and to also help with that low gear.

As far as performance it rips through the gears and has tons of power. I don't even really notice a difference in the truck with the programmer on it in extreme tune.

You will love the wide trac axle. It turns better than my F350 did. Good luck finding one though, they seem hard to come by. My local dealer has a 2014 F450 Pearl White Platinum thats still available.

Malloy Ford in Winchester has 2 350's with the max tow? package. 4.30 gears and look almost identical to a 450. No personal experience, but I'd imagine they'd be pretty similar.

Oh nice I had no idea. My dad is pretty stuck on getting a 450, but maybe he could atleast go check them out and test drive them. Haven't been able to find a 450 on the lot anywhere

It'll never get driven. Lol

exactly what I was thinking

What do they do with those SEMA trucks after the event??

It's my understanding that most of them get sold, but who knows. I wouldn't want to daily drive any of them considering the amount of work and detail that goes into each piece. After following Jordan's thread and the amount of parts he disassembled, painted, then reassembled I would want to park the truck inside a bubble and leave it there!

I was referring to Sean. He parks them in his garage
