Ok I lowered my tires all to 60psi. Was hoping I wouldn't trigger the tpms, well it did. I'm done doing any heavy towing for the year so I don't need 80psi in my tires. Any way to shut tpms off or adjust with my insight cts or with my sct x4? I'm afraid to take it to ford and ask them, and then they hook to my truck and screw up my tuning. Should I just run 65 psi? Will the light still be on? Thanks

Try whatever the door sticker or fuel tank door says the tires should be. They're probably different on the front and back and that's the pressure it's going to be looking for.

It says 65 up front 80 in the back. I just don't want to run 80 in the back when I'm not towing. I usually don't tow much in the winter. Hopefully I can find someone near me that uses IDS.

If the light is on you have to get it reset but i am 100% sure you should be able to run at 65 all around.

It doesn't take ids to reset them, the dealership had a tpms tool. I use to work at the dealership and used it all the time.No worry of them messing with your tunes.

Here's the Ford TPMS training tool. I have used this in the past when switching between sets of wheels. It works:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/GENUINE-FOR...hash=item462c3db754&item=301389952852&vxp=mtr

I'm not sure if the TPMS programming is predetermined by the part number of the specific TPMS sensor you have in there, or if whatever the pressure is set at when you "teach" the system (using this tool) is will then be what it learns as it's SET tire pressure.

The dealer tried to learn my 15 with the above tool and came back and said it can't be done. I was requesting 45 front and 40 rear.

It can't be done b/c the tool is not compatible, b/c the pressure was too low, or b/c he was a retard and couldn't get the tool to work (b/c he's used to using the $1500 tool in the back)? lol....
