Meh, I've just accepted the fact my very stock (deleted) ccsb 6.4 just won't get over 14-15 mpg no matter what I do. The small tank sucks. I drive my 6.0 play truck on the weekends and it feels like a damn econo car because the needle never moves (38 gallon tank)

If people are actually getting close to 20 ever then my truck must be broken.

All that technology, and they still couldn't bring mileage up. I was happy to get a rock steady 14 mpg. I could pull 16 if I drove a long distance on the highway. But that was rare. It was nirmally just my 30 mile one way trips to and from work, most of it spent at 80 mph. What gears do yall have?

And with all that "Technology" comes stupid strict emission laws. Stringent Emissions=Bad Fuel Economy

The true statement is how in the heck didn't 7.3s get better mileage than they did with their lax emission equipment.

To answer your question
3.55, 3.73 or 4.10.
Most I've seen are 3.55. Mine came factory with 3.55s and just swapped to 4.10s for towing.

I assumed we were talking about deleted trucks. And my guess as to 7.3's mileage, would be a by product of the heui system, and the displacement.

If I set cruise at 65-70 on hw I'll get about 17-18mpg.
In town I'm getting 14.

Reg cab long bed here with 38 gal tank. i usually see about 500 miles per tank. mostly city driving. leveled 1.5" with 305/55/r20 mickey thompson atz. i see about 13-14 mpg at best. truck just wont do better than that. if i do a tank super easy on it, it still gets the same mileage, if i drive however i want and get on it all the time it still gets the same. not sure why lol. I dont usually believe the people claiming 20+ mpg. i just dont see how when i cant even get 15. running H&S tuning with AFE cai. just ordered No limit intake, and doing all my IC piping and flo pro egr delete as well.

Wow. Mines a manual trans 2wd. Didn't think that would make such a big difference. I commute 25 miles to work with approximately half that stop and go city driving. I've been getting 21 mpg. 800 miles to a tank and my speedo is spot on. Hand calculated of course. Tank filled to the brim every time and filling up at the same place so no errors. Also I'm running a 295/45/20 khumo as well.
