Installed a 2500 stall converter and ran it about a week and the pump appears to have seized and stripped the nose on the converter .. Any ideas what went wrong?

I've changed many converters and never had this issue... I'm pretty sure it was seated. Could a kink in the cooler line cause this?

I have seen many times when trying to spool the charger that if it takes too long you superheat everything and spin the pump bushing. Other thought would be too much line pressure.

That makes perfect sense... I think trying to spool to long maybe the culprit.

What were the symptoms when this happened? I tried to spool up my 72 from a stop and my trans bit the dust afterwards, freshly built trans with a brand new 2200 converter, wondering if the same thing happened to mine.
