5R110 trans options

I recently had my trans go in my 05 powerstroke, mods in sig. I have been looking for a new trans or a shop to rebuild mine. I have searched and saw most of the trans out there but I was wondering if spending 4000 maybe 5000 would even be an option, I dont have anymore cash than that if a core charge makes it more I couldnt swing it. I figure I will need a trans that can hold 600hp. What do you guys suggest and would buying a used built trans be smart or a bad idea? I dont plan to pull or drag race with it but I love doing burnouts and ripping it up a little. I plan to do something this week asap. Any info/opinions would be appreciated. thanks guys.

Considering the trans is the second most important/complex part of the truck get it built to forget about it.

I hear ya but I didn't expect it to go so soon so all I have is 5000$ available to spend now on it.

thanks, I will check them out. I am in central mass so I dont think its too far. Also after checking out my funds looks like 4000 is the max I have right now

The trans should work just fine. TC is different is all....

we took a built 5r out of my 2010 450, and replaced it with a stock 5r from a 6.0... Just switch TCs. TC has a different bolt pattern on a 6.0 to a 6.4...

Check out twisted diesel performance. Their stage 3 is a little less than 5g with tq converter

With you mods, you should be fine with gpx clutches, a good TC and billit input shaft.

just ordered my twisted stage 3, and it was less then 5 to my door. and "in theory" im around 600whp, trans will be in the truck on sunday.

I have heard good things about twisted. Somebody just suggested to me Mass Diesel for a rebuild. The price is good and it comes with a tc. Plus I won't have to remove or install it or pay a core fee. It has a 2 year warranty and it's good for 600rwhp. Has anyone had any experience with them?
