I think no to a batmo of any sort. if you're gonna spend any money at all, do an upgraded low pressure, and actually see a big gain in horsepower and drop in temps. it'll be worth it, and more reliable then an unbalanced batmo wheel.

I'd say no to a batmo. Mine came apart within six months. But it was definitely a got Sotp upgrade while it lasted.

I had the lp batmo for about 25k miles. Never ran extremely hard but I do get on it often. There was a slight performance gain along with slightly lower egts. Maybe 50* or so. For the time and effort I'd say pick up a 71mm or the larger 72. Much better bang for the buck. I have elites 71 now and couldn't be happier. Although the 72 or 76 is very tempting.

I have had all of the above setups talked about and I say go with the 72 atmo turbo and be done with it. You will be much happier that you did in the long run. I had a Lp batmowheel, then the 72/59 and now moved on to 76/62. I did really like the 72 atmo though.

The 71/72mm atmos replace your stock 65mm atmo. You still retain your factory vgt turbo. You're just upgrading the size of the low pressure turbo

I went from a 12.74 to a 12.48 with both batmos. I didn't have them very long though. No failures

I've read about more atmo turbo failures, than batmo failures. Most who have them and remove them do it to go bigger. The OP should decide how far he wants to go mod wise, I think. Batmo has been proven to work. I realize the gains are less than with a larger atmo, but it seems the risk of breaking something else is less also. Just my opinion of course.

I really dig it when people say to bypass the wheel and upgrade the turbo because its smart. It will save you money and regret.

I am a 6.0 guy but I am dealing with chasing power with too big of sticks and too small of turbo. I wish I would have asked here before I went pmax, them billet wheel. I wouldn't be for saving for a MTW or 68 now, I would already have it.

To the rest, y'all giving sage advice!!

If you don't have a built trans I doubt it will last very long with a 71 or 72. Just another thought. It all depends on how much you are willing to spend.

I say 71.... And it just so happens I have one for sale! Shameless plug lol. But in all honesty, you'll be very happy with just a LP upgrade. After I put a new engine in my truck I did a 71 and factory HP and she made a ton more power, and it cleaned up very nicely. Batmos cost $800, a 71 cost $1300. Yes it's a $500 jump but its well worth every penny and let's face it, you'll prob eventually do the LP upgrade anyway so just cut to the chase and don't look back!

the trans can last with good tuning and smart driving habits
