I am interested in this as well as I have not done it yet on my truck. I got a pretty good idea on how to do it but no specifics.

Need to be sure all the air is out of the cooling system as well. Also be sure and use distilled water and not tap water. Electrolysis can occur if not done correctly. Go to You Tube and find Senior Master Technician and he has a video how to do it on a 6.0. If you are facebook you can like his page. Super nice guy.

I have always just drained the block and radiator, filled with water and let the vehicle warm up. Repeat a couple of times till the water comes out clear.
Filled with Zerex G05 50/50 and distilled water.
If cars had oil in the water I would use a flush, which was basically a detergent.
