Machine shop should be able to make you a set pretty easy I would think. Take a glow plug in with the end knocked off where you want it to length wise and away you go.

What's the idea behind deleting them, exactly?

Another stupid question, How do you start it when its chilly at the track? Warm it up with a block heater, or 3?

Pretty sure the op isn't going to be competing anywhere near freezing temps. I've started mine at -30f without cycling the flow plugs, she wasn't happy but it started.

Same here but I still figure there on as soon as I hit the key and continue to be on until there not needed anymore. Gues deleting glow plugs on a diesel seems kind of like deleting sparklers on a gasser. Interesting though.

Lol yeah this is a hood stacked competition 2.6 truck. Lol the turbo is facing the drivers side. If it won't start ill just shoot some either out the drivers window.

I don't want pieces of glow plugs dropping on my pistons. I can probably make them out of some stainless round stock but I wanted to ask. They make them for duramax's so I thought someone may have them for fords.

Glow plugs turn off when that little coil light goes out. So while cranking they aren't on. For a competition truck I'd never keep them. If need be a little ether will fire her up just fine.

You really don't need glow plugs with something like I have. If its cold I won't be pulling anyway. Don't need glow plugs for anything over 40 degrees which is the coldest I'd be pulling in.

Yes I was wrong, was thinking of the old stuff for a bit there. New systems run after start up, my bad. Either way for competition use they aren't needed.

check some of the older Cat engines with natural gas application, like a 353, 398, 379, I'm pretty sure they had plugs in the precups, and from what I can remember, they are about the same size as the powerstroke glow plugs.
