Put mini max in the search engine and did t see anything about MPG. Guys I'm getting like 13 MPG with 80% highway and 20% city. I'm almost certain I'm getting decent mileage on the highway, but I haven't take a highway trip and then refilled. A 5inch FP and the mini max are the only mods. I know I need a CAI just haven't had the funds for it yet. Currently the truck has 245/75/17s on it and calls for 265/70/17s. Turns around 2200 at 70mph unloaded. I'm currently running the HD300 tune with the TC locking in 4th and 5th. I drive pretty decent. I need some help guys. I'm happy with the power and speed but I need mileage at all cost.

Needs A taller tire or 3.55 gears or both the highway Rpm us what's killing you. Need as close to 2000 rpm as possible on the highway

Sounds about right to me...I drive about the same mixture and I got 14.5 hand clculated this last tank on spartans 275 tune. If the tire is taller than the stock tires, your speedo could be off too unless you adjusted through the mini.

My 08' truck with H&S tunes, 3.73 gears and 295/70R17 averaged about 16 on the highway, 14.5 in town. My 2010 truck with the same H&S tuner, 3.55 gears and 275/75R20 tires averaged closer to 18mpg highway and 16mpg city. I ran the Hot Damn tunes on the Mild setting for best mileage.

I agree with allot of comments these things aren't built for mileage but I can't respect wanting better.

unfortunately 6.4 fuel economy isn't the best. There are things that help but don't expect a ton better

Slow down.
Use cruise control.
As mentioned, try to stay around 2000 rpm on hwy.
Change your air filter.
Change your fuel filters.
Maintain all fluids.
Check brakes for drag, binding.
Air up your tires.
Update your mini max.

Bout what I'm getting, was concerned something was wrong w/ mine cause that's all I could get out of it. Just have to live w/ it. The 6.4 has by FAR the worst MPG's of all diesel trucks.

All you people w/ smart ass comments should drive off a cliff!

My 09 cclb 4x4 3.55s 35-12.50 tires and a 6 spd weighs in at 8400 lbs, at 70 turns just under 2000 rpm... Last weekend made a trip to Austin from brownwood and averaged 17 mpg mixed city and mostly hwy running the h&s hd300 with smoke control on 0.... If I turn smoke control up to 3 or 5 it drops mileage down to 14-15 mpg hwy and 10-12 city....

Hey Thanks for making me feel dumb Jake. lol Guys I forgot I turned my low boost fueling up to 5. I was running it on 3. Next trip I plan on turning it down to 0. Next weekend I’m bringing my truck back, I left it with my wife at her parents’ house. I am going to turn my low boost down to 0, fill my truck up, and then fill it up again after 100 miles of straight highway driving to see where I am at. I keep my trucks maintenance up. Filters, Oil, tire pressure, all that good stuff. I always use my cruise control, and I accelerate slowly. I have plans for 33x12.50s. I am considering 3.55s also and my next purchase will be a CAI. I can’t believe I have gone 3 months without one. So has anyone built a 6.4 with great MPG in mind? I have seen guys on here claim to get 20-23MPG, that’s why I was wondering what everyone else is doing with their mini max tuning.

I've managed to achieve 18.5 MPG on my 4" lift and 35's at 70 MPH. My tow rig is on stock lift, stock 18's, and stock tires, and has gotten around 20 MPG on the highway.

I used to think this as well until I pulled out my records where I recorded my MPG for the three other diesel trucks and believe it or not the 6.4 run right around the same MPGs as my 94 Cummins Reg cab 4x4. It had larger injectors and turbo,GSK etc. But it only ever got between 14-18mpg (never in the 20 MPG range like Ive some have said), and that Cummins was not making the power this 6.4 makes currently.

Someone mentioned Prius earlier, and say what you want about it but on my 31mile round trip to work every day it get between 49-53 MPG. It actually saves me considerable amounts of cash by letting the truck sit at home.

You drive a 7k lb truck designed to work...I don't understand why guys are constantly complaining about mpg"s

Because the guys that use these things as street queens want the better economy because it's possible...with money of course, and without the extra weight. I always see these new trucks parked at law firm buildings and never seen a trailer. Seems to me people with that kind of money wouldn't worry about the fuel mileage, but they do
