6r140 issues, i think

wtf is this noise? jack truck up and spin drive shaft and can hear this plain as day in the trans. dont recall any of my other automatic transmissions doing this.. truck is in neutral to be able to free spin driveshaft and axle...

Sounds like a one way sprag. Does it do it spinning both ways? Doesn't sound normal but i have no experience with a 6r140

It's the Sprag in the rear planetary assembly.

My 16 does it with 34k miles with amsoil full syn. It's not quite that loud but I definitely know the noise. But I noticed mine day one. Pulled in the the garage not quite far enough, so I pushed the truck by hand with the motor off and heard it. Heard it a lot since just never gave it a thought.

It's fine. That's not a roller type sprag, its got about 25 spring loaded pawls clicking, going to make some noise.
