I have a 1999 f250 4x4 getting a 8" BDS lift ... and 37" tires 12.5" wide... curious what kind of gears you guys are running? and also how bad the truck is going to be with stock gears?

any input would be great I searched couldn't find much.

I would run it with the stock gears first and see how you like it. I didn't think it was too bad.

I have 4.30's now with 38's and its ok. Great for towing but not great for 70+ mph highway speeds...

I preferred 3.73's to 4.30's with 37's...

37's and under IMHO, 3.73's or 4.10's...

42" and under 4.30's or 4.10's

44" and under 4.56's or 4.30's...

Just my opinions with a diesel rig.

I would also highly reconsider a 8" lift and 37's... too much lift, too small of tire.

37's are real world sized if u use your truck as a truck and actually hit bumps and driveway curbs while turning

I would like bigger than my true 37's and 8 inch lift but I don't want cutouts
my 3.73's are ok by any measure but I will change them someday

I have the stock 3.73s with 37s and the only issue I really have is that it shifts into overdrive at like 45 if I'm cruising and that's entirely too slow, but the highway rpms are great.

Yup... Cant hit "bumps" or "turn" with 37's and a 4" lift...

I'm sorry but unless you run stupid amounts of offset 6" lift is MORE then enough for 37's... 8" lift is perfect for 38.5 or even 40" tires...

Or if you don't mind the back of the front wheel wells getting trimmed, leveling works too.

I lived my own experience of having TRUE 37's with a 7 inch lift and them rubbing in turns while hitting anything larger than a small bump and even the rubbing I had was not to my liking so I went with a full 8 coils
I imagine you could set your jounce stops to help but I would rather keep my travel and articulation

glad it worked for you it's a good look

if I went to 38,s or 40.s with my lift I would be looking for my front fenders on the side of the road
tooling around a jobsite isn't my concern ;-)

I prefer a little gap between tire and fender.

9" and 37s..

3.73 gears. No reason to regear....

So my Toyo 37" MT's are not a true 37" tire? Gosh thats a first...

My bump stops are factory, my steering stops are not modded...

But I do not have gobs of offset in my wheels...

I would keep fighting you on this but
I must digress this thread was in the non specific year section but since I just noticed the OP and you are on a leaf sprung truck:doh: and my truck is not
I know for a fact this would be a minimum lift at max tire for how I use my truck
my rims are Helo Maxx8
9x18 -12 offset 4 inch BS IDK but that seems pretty standard ?

also my 37 Toyo MT's are true to size unlike My last Toyo MT's that fell an inch short of their advertised weight

not that it matters LOL

The 05 up axles are wider which given the same wheel will put a bigger tire into the fender or bumper sooner than it will on a 99-04 leaf sprung axle which tuck the tire a little better.
