Working a friends truck ( fuel pump) I found the fuel filter harness has insulation missing going to the bottom rear sensor
will the truck run without this harness? were in FL so no need for fuel heater !
dealer said 225.00 and 2 weeks to get it. will it be ok to run it with out in till he can afford to get the harness?

if its anything like my 97, no it wont run without that harness
the IPR is in that harness
iirc there are at least 6 wires in that connector and you need 2 to run

If I remember correctly the bottom one is the water in fuel sensor. I'd disconnect (unplug) clean the wire as best you can and tape it up, leave unplugged.

Correct me if I'm wrong guys but I think from top to bottom on fuel filter canister drivers side. Top sensor is fuel restriction sensor, next down is fuel heat and the bottom is water sensor.

When I swapped over to E fuel I unplugged and tapped those three sensors lines truck runs no problem. Just remember the fuel heater wiring is hot when the key is on and shares the power to the PCM. Fuse 22 as I recall. You must leave the IPR circuit in tack and hooked up.
