Hey guys I need some help. I bought my 08 f250 used a little over a year ago and it came with a afe intake system installed. Well now its time to clean it and I'm not sure how. I don't know if its a dry element or wet? The part number for it is 75-11262. The only reason I know that is because the factory intake was in the afe box when I went to buy the truck. Can anyone point me into the right direction to find how to clean the filter or a recharge kit? Thanks guys.

Ahead of the competition
Color will tell.
Yelliw-Pro guard 7 wet
Blue- Pro guard 5 wet
White - Pro Guard Dry.

Afe makes a rexharge kit, cone with wash to clean it and recharge oil.
Pre wash filter
Spray filter- let set 15 min
Wash out really good.
Let air dry. Do not use hair dryer or other heating element
If dry, you're done.
If wet, apply required amount of oil and let set 10 min for oil to spread.
Do NOT over oil.
Put back in and rock and roll.

If it so dirty you can't see the color, you need to wash it. Looking from inside will tell what you have.

Pull it, spray (really wet it) with Simple Green, let soak in, rinse with warm water (low pressure/high volume like from a bathtub filler) from the inside. Element color should appear. If it is still dirty, I use a motorcycle filter cleaning powder (Motorex from KTM dealer) that gets dissolved in how water. A few dips gets rid of the stubborn stuff. Rinse again and let air dry. Blowing UNHEATED air over the filter will speed drying time. Oil if needed. I use K&N oil because it was in stock at the local parts shop, and cheaper than AFE.

I bought a second filter so that there is no down time waiting for the water to dry, and the oil to soak in.

I have a recharge kit for a k&n that I had in my old truck. Can I clean and spray the filter with the k&n oil or is there a difference?
