Aftermarket harmonic balancer?

When is an aftermarket harmonic balancer needed? Looking at either a ATI or a fluid dampener. Thanks

Id probably stay away from the Fluid Dampener and go with ATI. Thats what I am running, not sure if it makes a difference or not but anything to help at my power level with a stock bottom end is worth a shot.

Idk if it's the same on a 6.4, but a fluid dampener ruined my dads 6.0. It required a whole bottom end rebuild after it was all said and done.

Over the years reading thru the forums I've seen numerous builds ruined with fluid dampener. Havent heard much about ati tho. Seems like most of the big builds stick with the stock dampener now.
