Well, all in all, thats a damn good time for the rear end to break. I have heard of diffs locking up at freeway speeds and ripping driveshafts/beds/axles/everything else off. Defintely could have been worse. You planning on having it rebuilt or finding a used one somewhere? If you rebuilt it, it would be a primo time to regear if needed.

It was not a water issue. Carrier Bolt Broke and other sh*t got jacked up. I will get pics soon. The bolt is as big as my finger, so I am amazed that it broke.

Either it got over tightened or the bolt had issues. If you can take a really good picture of it close up for me

Gears, bearings, seals are all junk, But what would make that break? Has it even been apart before? gear swap, anything? I am wondering if the bolt broke and got between the ring and pinion chewing up the gears or if another piece of metal broke out of the carrier, got between the gears forcing them apart which overloaded the bolt breaking it. I am leaning more towards the second idea. Is the cross shaft still in one piece?

It looks like the cross shaft is still there in the middle picture.
If the gears inside the carrier are still intact, I would be willing to bet that bolt was either not torqued or too much torque.
I have also seen not a correct pre-load causing the pinion to slam into the ring gear cause damage but usually that is just chewed up gears. Breaking a main bolt, that is a little tough to do.
